Chumil Pine Needle Basket

Mayan Hands' artisan partners named this basket "Chumil," the Kaqchikel word for "star." Skillfully woven from longleaf pine needles, pajón (a native grass in Guatemala), and raffia, with a central star design rendered in shades of green or purple, this basket is beautiful for display but also entirely functional.

Handwoven by Mayan women in the Guatemalan Highlands.

  • Pine needles, pajón and raffia
  • 10" diameter exclusive of handles, 14" including handles
