Small Wrap Journal

For centuries India has been using natural materials for clothing, dyeing, painting, and leather processing and tanning. People in India are fond of goat meat and the artisans take advantage of this fact by collecting skins from the local meat shops. The hides are treated naturally with water to soften the leather.

Designs are embossed on leather by hand. Pages are unlined and made from recycled cotton scraps. The leather workers create in safe surroundings and are paid a fair wage.
