Masters of Block Print

Their block printed cotton bags are known for colorful, vibrant patterns. The process begins with the desired pattern pieces being hand-carved from a wooden block.

The block is then dipped in ink, and the pattern is stamped by hand one color at a time. Many patterns require multiple blocks, layers of ink, and different colors. Each new block is lined up by eye.

 

Small Batches With Purpose

Making things by hand takes time and skill. For this reason, all of their products are made to order in small batches. This ensures no overproduction or excessive waste.

Their leather bags are made from remnant leather and are lined with block-printed canvas. Often, they create designs with leftover pieces in mind so everything has a purpose.

With a focus on traditional technique mixed with modern design, Joyn creates everyday bags that celebrate craft.
