Handcrafted in the Philippines

SAFFY (Social Action for Filipino Youth) was founded in 1966 to create alternative sources of livelihood for impoverished women and youth in marginalized areas of Manila. Continuing that mission on a larger scale, they now market handmade crafts for many small artisan workshops throughout the Philippines that specialize in capiz shell items. Through dignified work in craftsmanship with SAFFY, artisans benefit from educational seminars, vocational training, financial stability, and medical assistance.

They’ve partnered with Ten Thousand Villages since 1986 to reach customers far and wide, just like you! With your purchase, these artisans are able to grow into financial independence and further their education.
